Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, in days before the government made the self-isolation law, while I started to nod off, suddenly, there came a cough as of one whose health was off, coughing at my chamber door.
"'Tis some visitor," I muttered, "standing at my chamber door--only this and nothing more."
Open here I flung the shutter, then, with many a flirt and flutter, in there stepped a stately Raven breaking through my quarantine.
No face mask was he wearing, so his germs he could be sharing, contaminating chambers that once had sterile been.
Contaminating chambers where I had sat two weeks afore, perched and sat, and nothing more.
Then this ebony bird so black made my once healthy throat to hack.
By the grave and stern microbials which it brought within my door.
"Though me thy germs thou have given, and my lungs may soon be riven, ghastly grim and ancient Raven wandering from the Nightly shore.
Tell me what thy lordly name is, blackish fiend I've ever seen."
Thus quoth the Raven, "I am COVID-19."
