I hope that I make some friends tonight though.
(audience applauds) I've been in Nashville, Tennessee for, (chuckles) coming close to 15 years now, (audience member cheers) and uh, thank you, thank you.
In 2020, I released my first record as a solo artist and I'm gonna play a song from that record.
It's called, "Waking Up Ain't Easy."

I learned real quick that my story was no different than any other artist in Nashville.
We all, ah, we wait tables.
We clean houses.
(audience applauds) I got to thinking one day and writing a song of it, and I just wonder what it would be like to be a rich, little girl.

My papa introduced me to bluegrass music, and then, from there, I found Patty Loveless and Ricky Skaggs, who are also in the country music world.
I found country music and fell in love while my parents introduced me to the '80s and '60s and '50s, and so I fell in love with the Bee Gees and disco.
So this is a song that I like to call, Hillbilly Disco.
This is called, "For A Night."
