And I had never been to New York City.
Now, when you want to choose a profession in show business, you might want to visit the city where the headquarters is, you know?
Might be a smart thing to do.
I did not.
I said to a friend of mine, a very gregarious and enthusiastic classmate of mine, "Do you want to go to New York City Thanksgiving?

So she was like, "Yes, I'm in," and I said, "Okay, we're both in."

Now, in all the songs that have ever been written about New York City, for me, as an 18-year-old from Ohio, coming from the Midwest, there is one song, for me, that encapsulates best what I was feeling about the city, the size of it, the intensity, the intimidation... and the people.
