♪ ♪♪♪ Kim: In 1968 I had been listening to a lot of blues with my friends in high school.
I've been going to the Golden Bear in Huntington Beach, and I just wanted to do it.
So I picked up a harmonica, I started playing, and in a month or 2 I was in a band.
In a year I was backing up people like--my heroes like Eddie Taylor, George "Harmonica" Smith, Pee Wee Crayton, Will Folsom.
They all lived out in--out here in California at that time, LA.
It was kind of a whirlwind thing.
I mean, you had to just almost be a pest, you know, to get in there and play with these guys, and then after you got in they would have you back hopefully.
