I ACTUALLY ASKED THE TEAM AND ASKED THE NATIONAL TEAM IF I COULDO THIS WITH THEM AND IT WAS MY ONLY OPPORTUNITY TO RACE IN THE U.S. SUPER EXCITED.
>> BEING THAT I SPENT A LOT OF TIME IN EUROPE DID YOU EVER THINK MAN WHEN DO I GET A CHANCE TO GO BACK TO THE STATES AND RACE IN FRONT OF FAMILIES AND FRIENDS IN?

I HAD TO SPEND TIME REHABING AND STUFF IT'S BEEN NICE TO COME BACK TO THE U.S. BECAUSE OF THIS RACE AN EXCUSE TO COME BACK HOME AND BE WITH MY FAMILY IT'S BEEN GREAT.

>> WHEN YOU LOOK AT MATEO'S RECORD THIS YEAR HE IS RANKED 39TH IN THE WORLD.
HE IS NOT ONLY A GOOD GC RIDER HE IS A GOOD ONE-DAY RIDER HE GOT 9TH IN FLANDERS THAT IS AN AMAZING RESULT FOR A YOUNG RIDER.
HE HAS A LOT TO SHOW AND A GREAT FUTURE COMING UP FOR HIM.
AND I'D LOVE TO SEE HIM DO WELL TODAY.

HE RIDES WITH THE TRADE TEAM BUT OBVIOUSLY ON LEAN HERE WITH -- LOAN HERE WITH TEAM U.S. AND THE FACT HE WAS GETTING THE RESULTS AT THE ONE-DAY RACES IN FLANDERS WITH A TEAM THAT IS NOT KNOWN FOR THAT KIND OF RACING IS SHOWS.
HE GETS ON A GOOD TEAM HE WILL DO AMAZING THINGS.
>> THESE ARE THE 25 RIDERS THAT MADE THIS NEW SELECTION AT THE FRONT OF THE BIKE RACE AFTER THE FIVE LEADERS CAME BACK INTO THE FOLD AND THEY ARE HERE AND JOINED BY 20 MORE RIDERS WHO ARE NOW TRYING TO MAINTAIN THIS SPLIT.
WE DID SEE EF GET TO THE FRONT AND TRY AND DRIVE IT AND SPLIT THE GROUP AGAIN THEY HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL SO FAR BUT THEY PUT RIDERS AT THE BACK IN TROUBLE IN THIS GROUP.
IT WILL NOT BE THIS BIG OF GROUP GOING TO THE LINE TOGETHER IN THE FINISHING CIRCUITS THEY WILL TRY AND GET RID OF RIDERS AT THE BACK OF THIS GROUP AS THE BIG TEAMS START TO MAKE THEIR WAY TO THE FRONT RIGHT NOW.
>> WITH THIS PACE AND THESE ROADS, THEY DON'T HAVE TO TRY TO GET RID OF A ROADER THEY WILL GET DROPPED.

SOME OF THE GUYS WILL HANG ON FOR DEAR LIFE AND I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE RIDING THE COURSE IT'S NOT AN EASY COURSE AND THERE'S NOWHERE TO HIDE.
YOU'RE PUTTING PRESSURE ON THE PEDAL NO MATTER WHAT PART OF THE GROUP YOU ARE IN.
MIGHT AS WELL BE TOWARDS THE FRONT WHERE YOU CAN BE IN THE GAME.
