[laughs] No, for those of you that may not know, we were both finalists on the number-one TV talent show, on dueling networks.

PIA: But I was actually on the one that started it all-- American Idol.

DANIEL: That's true, but Simon Cowell did leave your show to come be a judge on my show, America's Got Talent.

PIA: [laughs] Well, okay, that's true, but we did have some pretty awesome judges.

Randy Jackson stayed.

DANIEL: Oh, yeah.

PIA: We had J.Lo and Steven Tyler.

DANIEL: That is a great panel.

PIA: It is.

DANIEL: You know, Pia, I'm curious, what was your favorite song that you sang on your season of American Idol?

PIA: [laughs] It's funny you ask that, because my favorite song that I ever performed on American Idol actually got me voted off.

DANIEL: [laughs] What?

PIA: Yeah, it did!

DAVID: You sure can.

PIA: I'm gonna try to keep it as short as possible, but this man means so much to me, and I spent so long trying to get to you.

And I was so inspired by your music from such a young age.

I finally got the chance to meet you many years later.

We were both at Jennifer Lopez's Christmas party, and they asked me to come up and sing, and they asked you to accompany me with "O Holy Night."

Right, full disclosure, I saw that he RSVP'd, so I rehearsed all of his Christmas songs.

[David laughs] [laughs] I did!

DAVID: Well, cut to-- she killed it that night.

It was incredible!

PIA: Thank you.

DAVID: I mean, like a voice like I'd never heard before, and there may be more to the story, but eight years later, I mean, we've been touring for eight years, and, and you know, I'm, I'm so happy for you because your star is like, you guys are gonna explode, and I'm gonna be like, "Hey, you know, I have a gig, uh, could you come and join me?"

And she's gonna be like, "How'd you get this number?"

I know it.

I've seen the drill before.

PIA: I'm never gonna do that ever because you are the entire reason why I'm able to get onstage and do things like this.

[laughter] This is a song we're about to do that I did with Celine, and Pia crushes it every night.

There's a long story.

I'll make it short.

There's a high note in this song, you'll recognize it, you can't deny it, and I made Celine do it eight times.

She went hoarse and hated me, um, but you'll notice this high note.

Anyway, Pia only gets one chance to do it, and every night, she gets it perfect.

And he is amazing, and he's flawless, and like I said, you've seen two stars really be born on this stage tonight.

But he has another gear that he's gonna go to, and he's gonna show it to you right now.

I'd like to lie and say it's a song I wrote, but it's actually a song written by Puccini 120 years ago.

Um, in my show, I say that I wrote it and people don't know the difference.
