I think everyone should meet at least one person who is able to leave an undeniable mark on our hearts and minds.
My name is Melissa Cabe.
I teach at the Weatherly Area School District in the high school, and I'm a special ed teacher, so I pretty much go into all different classrooms from chemistry to international studies.
Oh, they do.
Maybe I can.
Can you think I would describe my teaching style as more motherly?
I always wanted to be a little more stern, but my voice does not project very well when I yell and I think is probably laugh at that more.
I find that making connections really, you know, getting to know the kids, making them feel safe.
I think that's more my teaching style and letting the kids be themselves.
Like we're all a very unique and eclectic group.
And here we have Eddie Munson hanging up there.
We also have a creepy Santa over there that the kids like to hide around the school.
It somehow works like we have our own little community.
And that's something that I've always really felt was important, that the kids felt that they could be themselves and not have to worry about being picked on and judged while they're in here and we have kids.
You would never think interacting and being friends, coming in here and joking.
And it's it just I think it makes their day a lot easier.
I love you all.
If anything happens to me coming out of work, I think for my students, being a great teachers, being someone who they know they can lean on when they need help, being supportive, being an advocate for them, especially because being in the special ed department, you know, we have kids who who might need a little extra help in some cases.
Why don't you do the protest, Springer the night resonate.
I'll let you pick.
Well, when I'm around risque.
It's kind of it's just very relaxing.
She's funny, soft hearted.
It's just she tells you a lot to put yourself in other people's shoes.
So it's just like, well, take this person's aspect and look at it from their point of view.
So it's she kind of makes it a lot easier to, like, go on in life and not worry about like what others think or what others are doing and just focus on yourself.
I am so happy that I got to see her grow into a strong, confident young lady with everything that's been thrown at her.
She has succeeded.
And I honestly think that whatever comes her way, she can she will kick the world's, but she will not let anything keep her down.
And I'm just glad that I was there for the journey.
Not everyone you meet in life is going to stick by you.
And if they don't, you just don't need them.
Because this year I've lost a lot of friends, a lot of family, and I think I only have like two close people to me.
And she's just she's been there.
She's been saying, like, if they left you, you don't need them.
She's a teacher, a mother, and most importantly, a friend.
She's a parent.
I always wanted and needed.
Yes, Roxy did share it with me.
I cried.
I didn't realize so many of the little things that we talked about or we did meant so much.
And I think that's really important.
You don't realize sometimes how little things can have a big impact.
Because I was just doing my job, really.
I, you know, doing what I thought was the best I could.
And it really made me realize I'm I'm very blessed to be working where I am and to be working with the students.
I have.
